The Wedding Day

Welcome to the definitive guide of the wedding day.  Other References include the survival guide and the wedding weekend.

4pm: The Ceremony
Chiesa San Domenico, Piazza Luca di
Penne, Penne, Pescara, Italy

The Ceremony commences at 4pm  - which is late in the day, so you have plenty of time to enjoy a hopefully sunny Sunday in Italy.

You will need to make your own way to the church in Penne - so please plan in advance how you are going to get there. Here are your options:

Cars
The best and quickest way to get to the church is to drive. Having said this, you may not want to drive back to your accommodation late at night after the reception. Remember, your car will be easy to pick up the next day if you don't want to drive back. As a guide, Penne is approximately 40 minutes from the beach in Pescara heading towards the mountains. Refer to the Survival guide for directions to Penne.

If you are relying on Public Transport, please see options below.

Taxis
The number of taxis in Pescara is quite low. Finding a taxi on the street to get around is also quite rare so please organise a taxi with your hotel in advacnce should you need it. As a guide, if you prefer catch a taxi from Pescara or Montesilvano to Penne then the cost is approximately 60 euro one way.

Public Bus: Pescara to Penne
You will find the bus timetable in the survival guide. The bus leaves from the Pescara Centrale Train/Bus Terminal and arrives outside the old town walls in Penne. Please allow enough time to find the right bus as the buses arent labelled and you may need to ask for the right bus to Penne.

For the wedding day, the very last scheduled bus departure time (to be able to make it on time to the church) leaves on Sundays at 2.05pm sharp.

Buses to Penne can be paid on board the bus (other local buses need a ticket bought from any bar/tabacchino etc) at a cost of approximately 2 – 3 euros. It is a good idea to have loose change on you!

5:30pm: The Reception
Casale Marino, Contrada Campotino,
Colle Corvino, Pescara, Italy

The reception is just outside of Penne and will effectively start as soon as everyone gets there and will go on until the wee hours (although the bus will leave at 1:30am).

Transport to the reception
For the wedding day, we have hired a 50 seat bus to take those guests that requested it from the church in Penne to the reception venue in Collecorvino.
Unfortunately, the bus will not be able to pick you up from your hotel before the church so you will need to make your own way to the Church in Penne. People have put their names down to catch the bus - so if you havent let us know that you will be taking the bus - please get in touch.

The bus will leave Penne following the Church ceremony, please find one of Luisa's brothers - Daniel or Joseph Biondino who will guide you to the location of the bus.

Food
On the subject of food - we have been made aware of certain food allergies and dislikes. If you find on the day that you are given an item of food you cannot eat, please do remind the waiters/waitress and an alternative will be given to you.

Transport from the reception
At the end of the wedding night, the bus will drop off those guests who travelled to Penne by public transport from Montesilvano/ Pescara/ Loreto Aprutino back to their hotels - everyone else on the bus will be brought back to Penne only and will need to make their own way home from there. Following the reception, the bus will leave from the front entrance at 1.30am sharp. If you miss this bus there will not be another option so please do not get left behind!

Taxis from the Reception venue to any other location will need to be booked two weeks prior. The taxi company do not speak English so if you require this, please let us know and we will be happy to organise this for you. If you speak Italian or feel that you are going to learn it in the next few weeks, the taxi service contact details are:

Mr. Michael Giovanetti  - president of the taxi company
